FATORDA: Fatorda Police have registered an FIR against Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai to form unlawful assembly and block smooth traffic flow.
Sardesai, along with residents of Fatorda, had hit the road against the BJP government for stopping the ongoing sanctioned road widening, hot mixing and drainage works.
The FIR also includes charges that make it inconvenient for the public and also for using criminal force on police while discharging lawful duties.
“A big thank you to all Fatordekars who walked with me at short notice. We hit the streets for our collective development. Let’s leave the Fatorda hating BJP Goa in the gutter and walk together into the future,” said Sardesai.
He further said that a PI who deposed on 15 November that an old priest like Fr Romano Faleiro had assaulted him in the infamous Velim Church Attack Case in Feb 2012 is expected to file such a fabricated case.
“This will not deter us from fighting for Fatorda’s development; We won’t be cowed down,” he added.
