CANACONA: An FIR has been registered at Canacona Police Station vide Cr. No. 41/2025 under Section 17-A of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1974, read with Section 3(5) of the BNS 2023, following a complaint lodged by Rohan Bhandari, D’Man Grade-II, Town and Country Planning Department, Chaudi, Canacona.
According to the complaint, prior to 11th February 2025 at TNK, Nagorcem-Palolem, the accused persons — Anand Purso Naik Gaonkar, resident of Cuncolim, and Bhiku Narayan Naik Gaonkar, resident of Canacona — with their common intention, carried out illegal hill cutting without obtaining requisite permission from the concerned authority.
Further investigation in the case is being carried out by PSI Ajit Velip of Canacona Police Station.
