Canacona: The Canacona police have registered an FIR against an unidentified person for allegedly carrying out illegal hill cutting in Loliem village.
The complaint, lodged by Rohan Bhandari of the Town and Country Planning Department (TCP), Chaudi, states that prior to May 6, 2025, at an unknown time, the accused undertook hill cutting over an area measuring 10 metres by 5 metres, to a height of 5.5 metres, without obtaining the required permission from the competent authority.
Police have booked the case under Section 17-A of the TCP Act. PSI Viushal Velip of the Canacona Police Station is conducting further investigation.
