CURTORIM: Goa police have arrested Nilesh Vernekar, a main accused in a firing incident on a house at Curtorim.
Maina-Curtorim police are looking out for his two accomplices, who are still at large.
Vernekar along with two others were booked for firing at a house in Curtorim last night over a property dispute.
Complaint had been filed against security agency owner Nilesh Vernekar and two more persons by house owner Consi Fernandes.
Fernandes had moved the courts against a construction coming up in an open space near his house. The firing incident is suspected to be linked to this case.
Vernekar allegedly kept the car on the road near Fernandes’s house at around 11 p.m. yesterday night and fired at the house.
The trio fled from the scene after firing three gunshots at the house. One of the window pans has been shattered due to the firing.
Maina Curtorim police also found two bullets near the house. Luckily no one has been injured in the incident.
The entire episode has been captured on CCTV. Police have registered offences under section 336 of IPC and also under the Arms Act.
