Panaji: Police have booked five persons for allegedly abusing, threatening, and assaulting a man and his friends during a dispute over vehicle parking in Salvador do Mundo.
According to police, the incident occurred around 7:14 p.m. on August 9, 2025, when complainant Navin Kishor Arlekar (32), a resident of Paithona, was confronted by the accused. One of them allegedly abused him over the parking issue, while another banged and punched the steering wheel of his vehicle and prevented him from getting out.
The same accused reportedly used obscene language towards Arlekar’s friends, while three others allegedly joined in, issuing death threats. Police said one of the accused also assaulted the complainant with slaps and fist blows.
The case is being investigated by PSI Mahadev D. Pednekar. Further investigation is underway.
