CHAPORA: Anjuna police have arrested five persons in connection with a theft at a store room near Chapora Jetty, Anjuna.
According to the complaint lodged by Babaji Dabholkar (50) of Dabolwada, Shapora, between 5 pm on August 26 and 10 am on August 29, unknown persons broke into his store room by cutting open a metal grill window and stole items worth around ₹70,000. The stolen property included a 150-watt Prycal battery, nut bolts, shackles, ving leg, wheels with stand, and cable wire with board.
Based on investigations, police registered Anjuna PS Cr. No. 116/2025 under Section 305 read with 3(5) BNS and arrested five accused — Irfan Ahamed (20) and Tafim (20), both labourers from Uttar Pradesh presently residing in Arambol; Savita Lamani (30), Geeta Nayak (35) and Shruti Karbhari (25), all residents of Arambol with native addresses in Gadag, Karnataka.
The arrests were made on August 29 at 4.13 pm. Further investigation is being carried out by Investigating Officer Ramesh Harijan.
