QUEPEM: Non-stop rainfall in Quepem and Sanguem taluka has led to water-logging in most areas.
Uninterrupted heavy rainfall, which continued for the past few days, has resulted in flooding streets, fields, and drainages in Quepem, Curchorem main road side areas.
In the morning, between 7 to 9 am, there has been heavy rainfall which has continued from last night, and this is the reason why roadsides are flooded. In certain places, the situation has worsened due to the absence of the drainage system at Quepem Curchorem road.
In some areas, there are drainages, but due to the lack of maintenance and repair work, the drainages are choked with mud, bushes and trees from the main road and the internal roadside.
The streets of Curchorem, especially at Ambedkar circle Curchorem, are totally flooded. This stretch has turned risky for commuters.
On the other hand, the Taki-Kakumoddi road of Xeldem panchayat had also come under the rainwater. In Quepem, near the primary health centre, Borimol drainage is seen overflowing.
