PONDA: The house of flood victim Rohidas Zalmi at Murdi -Khandepar has been built and inaugurated today at MGP Leader Dr Ketan Bhatikar in the presence of villagers and local panch members.
House owner Rohidas Zalmi expressed gratitude towards MGP leaders, expressed happiness on behalf of the family, and thanked the MG party.
On 23 July 2021, Ponda Taluka was affected due to flood with several houses were flooded while some were mud houses were collapsed at Murdi –Khandepar and Usgao Ganjem.
The MGP Leader Sudin Dhavlikar had inspected some of the houses and had assured rebuilding them through Madhavrao Dhavlikar trust and accordingly had laid the foundation in October on auspicious occasion Dussehra Festival.
MGP leader Dr Ketan Bhatikar also laid the foundation stone of another house of flood victims at Murdi Khandepar and assured completing it in two months. He also assured reconstructing the two houses damaged in the area, including one at Khandepar Bazaar.
It may be recalled that the Ponda Taluka Disaster Management team inspection report revealed that in 23 July 2021, flood 21 families became homeless with houses were found fully damaged( collapsed), 95 were partly damaged, while 310 were partly submerged underwater.
Altogether, the total flood affected houses were 426, causing Loss to the tune of several crores. Usgao –Ganjem and Khandepar were the worst hit due to flooding.
