PORVORIM: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has canceled the revised answer sheet re-evaluation method, which was intended to be completed answer-by-answer rather than sheet-by-sheet, in response to concerns expressed by certain schools.
This also indicates that the Board has reduced the re-evaluation charge of Rs 100 per response to Rs 700 for the complete answer sheet.
Following feedback from some schools expressing concerns that the revised procedure could put additional financial strain on candidates, the Board reviewed the matter and decided to maintain the current procedure for the upcoming HSSC and SSC examinations in February-March 2025, according to a new circular released on Monday.
“As a result, candidates will still be able to apply directly for the re-evaluation of their answer sheets for the upcoming exams, without having to first obtain a photocopy,” the Board stated.
The Board reported that its Executive Council had established a new procedure for reevaluating answer sheets, which required obtaining a photocopy of the answer sheet prior to submitting an application for reevaluation.
The suggested updated approach would require candidates to request a photocopy of the document for examination before requesting a re-evaluation for any particular questions they would like to contest. Additionally, a Rs 100 pre-question charge was suggested.
The Board stated that it is still dedicated to maintaining accessibility and transparency while protecting the interests of its stakeholders.
