PANAJI: Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration felicitated Food Business Operators (FBO) and Hygiene Rating certificates were presented to FBO who worked to promote Eat Right Initiative of FSSAI.
The function was held at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration yesterday. The District Collectors of North Shri Ajit Roy, IAS and Smt. Ruchika Katyal, IAS, Collector South Goa, graced the occasion.
The Short Film Contest and the Essay Competition winners were felicitated by giving cash prizes and the certificates at the hands of Collectors. The theme for both the competitions was “Eat Right”. Miss Aaidya Gaitonde, Mitali Rajkar and Jonah Ferrao were the top three winners in an essay writing competition. Ravina Avalkar and Rishi Amare were awarded consolation prizes.
In a short film competition, the first prize was bagged by St. Xavier Academy, Old Goa, Santaksh Kamat and Group, won the second and Government High School. Ponda took away third place in the junior category.
The senior category, St Tresha High School bagged first, and Sambhaji More and group was adjudged the second position.
Shyam Gaonkar from Information and Publicity Department, Smt Sidhi Thali, Art and Culture Department and Nelson Fernandes, FDA, judged the competitions.
Shri Ajit Roy, IAS, North Goa Collector, complimented the work of the Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration for carrying out Hygiene Rating and Eat Right Campus Certification in the State under the Eat Right District Challenge.
Smt. Ruchika Katyal, IAS, Collector South, also spoke on occasion.
The certification is a part of the Eat Right Initiative of the FSSAI. The initiative aims to enhance Food Safety compliance and ensure safe, wholesome food compliance to all.
