PANAJI: November 18th to 24th is observed as Antimicrobial resistance awareness week. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an increasingly serious threat to public health.
The spread of multi-drug resistant bacteria and the lack of new antibiotics to treat infections caused by these organisms, pose a rapidly increasing threat to human health.
Hence, in order to create awareness about this AMR, a program was conducted by FDA for the stakeholders.
The members from Pharma manufacturers, drug retailers, FDA staff and public participated.
Director FDA gave the presentation on the various aspects of AMR and role of every stakeholder in controlling the same.
Dr Pravin Khullar, President GPMA, Shri Amit Kamat, President CDAG, Smt Jivi Jethani, Accounts Officer, and Shri Richard Noronha, Designed officer, along with Smt Jyoti Sardesai, Director FDA were present on the occasion.
