VALPOI: The Valpoi Police have registered a case of forgery and defamation after an unidentified person allegedly forged the signature of a local resident and submitted a false application in his name before government authorities.
According to the complaint filed by Mr. Ritesh Narayan Naik, a resident of House No. 108, Dhamse, Sattari, the unknown accused, prior to March 31, 2025, forged his signature on a fabricated application and submitted it before the Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Valpoi, Sattari.The false application, purportedly made by Naik, pertained to alleged illegal construction of houses by non-Goans on government land surveyed under No. 9/38 in Dhamse village. The complainant stated that the forged document not only misrepresented him but also damaged his reputation in society.Based on his written complaint, an offence was registered at Valpoi Police Station at 1:10 a.m. on November 7, 2025.
