Aam Aadmi Party criticizes BJP over Ramesh Tavadkar’s conviction in assault case
Aam Aadmi Party has criticised Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Goa BJP and BJP minister Ramesh Tawadkar for Tawadkar’s involvement in an assault case and his conviction in the case. AAP took potshots at Tawadkar for his involvement in an assault case happened in Chaudi in Canacona in which now he has been convicted by the court. AAP has said that while chief minister Pramod Sawant says, he will crush the crimes happening in the state, his own ministers and party members are seen to be involved in the criminal activities.
Sandesh Telekar, member of the Aam Aadmi Party today criticized BJP leader and Chairman of Goa State Commission for SC/ST Ramesh Tawadkar for his involvement in the assault case. Tawadkar also happens to be the state vice president for Goa BJP. Telekar said that the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant always says that he and his government will always try to prevent the crimes happening in the state. But the biggest parody of his government is, his own ministers and party bigwigs are seen to be involved in criminal cases and activities and having serious allegations against them.
Telekar said in his statement, “the Aam Aadmi Party Goa chapter seriously condemns the involvement of senior BJP leader and Goa BJP vice president as well as state SC-ST Commission chairman Ramesh Tawadkar’s involvement in assault case for which he has been convicted this week. Our CM Pramod Sawant always says that his government is committed to control the crimes in state, when he is always asked about rising criminal cases in Goa. It is really a surprising and pathetic fact that his own party members and his own ministers are seen to be involved in criminal cases and similar activities in recent times”.
Telekar further mentioned, “The people of Goa have seen how the BJP MLA Babush Monserrate was involved in a rape case and the victim suddenly disappeared from her shelter home a few weeks back. We can also see the current TCP minister Babu Kavlekar involved in the alleged crime of sharing a child porn clip. Garbage minister Micheal Lobo is also in controversey for a forgery case in the document issued by a panchayat in an illegal construction. So, we can see that Pramod Sawant’s own cabinet ministry aa well as his own party has tarnished people. If this is ths situation in the administration itself, how can ensure a crime free Goa? ”
Telekar said that no doubt because of such ministers and party members, who are themelves involved in criminal activities, the government led by BJP in Goa has failes to curb the rising crime scenario in the state. The Aam Aadmi Party condemns such sorry state of affairs. Pramod Sawant should immediately sack Ramesh Tawadkar or ask him to resign over his alleged involvement in assault and intimidation case, Telekar stated. The Aam Aadmi Party demands an immediate resignation of Tawadkar from all the positions he is holding at present.
