MAPUSA: In a significant judgment, the Mapusa court has convicted former Sarpanch and current panch of Salvador do Mundo panchayat, Vijay Dalvi, along with Sweta Kandolkar and Shrikant Arlekar, for outraging the modesty of Dr. Meenakshi Martin in a case dating back to 2017.
The incident was reportedly linked to a property dispute, during which Dr. Martin was subjected to verbal abuse and physical assault. Her mobile phone was also damaged in the altercation.
The court has sentenced all three accused to undergo simple imprisonment for three months. Additionally, each has been directed to pay a compensation of ₹25,000 to Dr. Martin.
