PANAJI: Former Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida who quit the BJP to join the Congress party today has made his way back to the BJP.
Almeida, who was elected to the Assembly from Vasco, had became the second sitting BJP legislator to quit after Alina Saldanha.
Addressing the media, Almeida said, “We were all scared after Parrikar’s demise of how the government would run but today CM Pramod Sawant has shown us the way.”
He further said that under BJP Goa President Sadanand Tanavade’s leadership, BJP will win both seats for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
“Vasco MLA Daji Salkar took all the works proposed in our constituency. All the projects that are hot mixing underground cabling and many others. I have joined the BJP for development,” he added.
BJP Leader and Minister Mauvin Godinho said that this is a strong message for those who were saying that minorities were not with the BJP in South Goa.
“I am sure BJP will win both the seat and BJP will rule India for many more years,” he added.
