QUEPEM: Cuncolim Police have registered a case against four persons for allegedly abducting two labourers from the ONGC site at Betul, Quepem.
The complaint was lodged by Ramesh Chand, a resident of Betul and native of Himachal Pradesh, who reported that on Independence Day around noon, the accused — Arjun Gond, Mandeep Kumar, Rafik Ansari and Sonu Kumar, all natives of Bihar and employees of Universal Contractors and Engineers Ltd — deceitfully induced and abducted his workers Shivam and Ram Lakhan, both natives of Uttar Pradesh.
The complainant alleged that the two labourers, who were employed under him at the ONGC site, were secretly and wrongfully confined by the accused and remain untraceable till date.
Police have registered a case and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Kishor Velip of Cuncolim Police Station.
