MARGAO: The Margao Town Police Station has registered an offence against four persons for allegedly assaulting and threatening a 50-year-old man at Malbhat, Margao, following a dispute over placement of a dustbin.
According to the complaint filed by Kassim Sayed (50), a resident of Malbhat, the incident occurred on February 13, 2026, at around 11.00 am. He alleged that the accused — identified as Faiz, Saif, Azan and Kaif — acting with common intention, wrongfully restrained him and verbally abused him in filthy language.
The complainant further stated that the accused assaulted him with slaps, blows and kicks. He alleged that accused Kaif also struck him on the head with an iron rod during the altercation. The accused are also said to have threatened him with dire consequences.
Police said the dispute reportedly arose over an issue concerning the complainant’s wife keeping a dustbin near the house of one of the accused.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Shubham Gaunkar of Margao Town Police Station.
