PONDA: Four cattles ( all young calf ) who were grazing ground near Goa Engineering College ( GEC ) Farmagudi. Following information by locals who noticed the incident it was informed to Electricity Department , following which Police , Veterinary doctors And Junior engineer Div 3, Dinesh Gaude of the Electricity rushed at spot and Panchnama was conducted by Ponda Police.
The calf are owned by Nitin Prabugaonkar. He said this was sad incident. He said this is pathway luckily no local was present. Incident took place at 11.30 am today.
It is learnt that the high tension 33 KV Electricity line jumper was snapped and fell on pole due to which the the power leakages leaked into iron pole and ground following which the cattles grazing at ground near the iron pole died of electrocution as current leakages through wet soil.
The incident shocked locals as many of them including mallekar visit here for grazing cattles as well as to look after vegetables grown on hills. Luckily no one present though pole is located on pathway at this spot.
The 33 kV line supply power at Kundaim Industries and village .
