Cuncolim: A family of four, including a husband, wife, and their two children, sustained injuries after the scooter they were riding was hit by a truck near Nayaband, Cuncolim on Wednesday.
According to Cuncolim Police, the incident occurred when the truck, proceeding from Balli towards Margao, reportedly veered to the extreme right side of the road and collided head-on with the oncoming scooter near a restaurant in the Nayaband area.
Police Constable Vinod Kankonkar lodged a complaint, alleging that the truck driver operated the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner, thereby endangering human life. The impact of the collision caused all four occupants of the scooter to be flung onto the roadside, resulting in injuries.
All injured individuals were provided medical treatment, and an offence has been registered against the truck driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act.
Further investigation is underway.
