Margao: Police have registered offences against four shops in the city after a complaint by Kundan Beloshe, Investigation Officer of Griffin Intellectual Property Services Pvt. Ltd., revealed the sale and storage of counterfeit Bosch products.
Acting on behalf of Robert Bosch GmbH, the complainant stated that React India Pvt. Ltd. had been authorised to carry out investigations into spurious products resembling genuine Bosch items.
During market surveillance conducted between October 18 and November 26, Beloshe identified counterfeit stock at Mahalaxmi Sales & Service on Power House Road, Mahaveer Sales & Service on Old Station Road, and Ashapura Sales & Service and Bharat Sales & Service, both located at Malbhat.
Based on the findings, offences were registered against the shop owners for violating intellectual property rights and causing loss to both the brand and consumers.
The case is currently under investigation by PSI Shubham Gaunkar of Margao Town Police Station.
