VASCO: Third accident in the early morning on Friday in Mormugao taluka was witnessed. A black colour Swift car reportedly dashed against the Traffic signal pole uprooting it from the road.
All is not well in Mormugao regarding the series of accidents which occurred in the early morning on Friday. At Vales junction, where the road crossing is being done, a black colour Swift car reportedly dashed against the traffic signal pole, which resulted in the uprooting of the signal pole.
Nearby residents informed that a fast-moving Swift car reportedly banged the traffic signal at this Vales junction at Dabolim.
The Vales junction is one of the busy junctions from the Dabolim, which is a kilometre away from the Dabolim International Airport. This traffic signal plays an important role in regulating and smoothing heavy traffic movement during peak hours. This junction is used by the MES college students, Jairam Nagar residents and all those commuters who travel from Vasco, Airport to Verna, Margao and vice Versa.
Locals have demanded that traffic signals be repaired and made functional immediately to avoid further accidents and any mishaps.
