New Delhi: The Goa University Inter Collegiate Men’s Cricket Championship 2025 to 26 continued at the Goa University Cricket Ground in Taleigao, with two matches played on the fourth day of the tournament.
In the first match of the day, Fr. Agnel College of Arts and Commerce from Pilar defeated Goa College of Physiotherapy Naturopathy and Yogic Science by 96 runs after delivering a strong all round performance.
After winning the toss, Goa College of Physiotherapy Naturopathy and Yogic Science chose to bowl first. Batting first, Fr. Agnel College posted a total of 201 for 8 in 20 overs. Anuj Bhikoji led the batting with a solid 48 runs from 29 balls, while Ugam contributed 40 runs from 46 deliveries. For the bowling side, Shivam Sawant claimed three wickets for 35 runs and Rajdeep Gavnekar also picked up three wickets for 42 runs.
In response, Goa College of Physiotherapy Naturopathy and Yogic Science managed 105 for 7 in their 20 overs. Prathamesh Dessai scored 24 runs from 32 balls while Shivam Sawant added 19 from 18 deliveries. Atharv More delivered an impressive bowling spell for Fr. Agnel College, taking three wickets for 15 runs, while Anuj Bhikoji took two wickets for 28 runs. Anuj Bhikoji was named the best batter of the match, while Atharv More was recognised as the best bowler.
In the second match, Agnel Institute of Technology and Design from Assagao defeated Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering and Information Technology from Shiroda by 68 runs.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Agnel Institute of Technology and Design scored 183 for 9 in 20 overs. Yash top scored with 66 runs from 40 balls and Aditya Mathkar added 38 from 38 deliveries. Shaunak Satarkar took three wickets for 35 runs while Ansh Dessai picked up two wickets for 36 runs.
Chasing the target, Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering and Information Technology were bowled out for 115 in 17.1 overs. Raj Gaonkar scored 35 runs from 26 balls. Rahul Rathod starred with the ball for Agnel Institute, taking four wickets for 27 runs, while Ubaid Baba claimed two wickets for 23 runs. Yash was named the best batter of the match and Rahul Rathod the best bowler.
The championship will continue on March 10 with PES College of Education facing Government College Pernem at 9 am, followed by a match between Goa College of Pharmacy and St. Xavier’s College Mapusa at 2 pm.
