New Delhi: Daivadnya Bhavan, Margao organised a comprehensive Pain Relief Camp with physiotherapy consultation at its Colconda premises on January 18, 2026, aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and improving quality of life for residents. The initiative was conducted in association with Dr. Sasmit Lotlikar, an experienced pain medicine specialist and interventional spine physician, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community.
Renowned medical professional Dr. Ravindra Shirodkar graced the event as the Chief Guest. His presence added significance to the programme, particularly in light of his recent recognition with the Award of Excellence conferred by the Honorable Minister for Social Justice and Irrigation, Shri Subhash Phaldesai. The camp focused on addressing chronic pain issues while also encouraging early diagnosis through accessible medical services.
A key contributor to the camp was Dr. Hari Nagpal, a specialist in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, who provided expert physiotherapy consultations and guidance to patients suffering from joint, muscle and posture-related conditions. Senior physician Dr. Mahabaleshwar Raikar also played an important role by offering general medical consultations and practical health advice to attendees.
One of the major highlights of the camp was the free bone density check-up, which attracted significant interest, especially among senior citizens and individuals at risk of osteoporosis. In addition to pain management services, beneficiaries were offered free blood sugar and blood pressure screenings, enabling early detection of lifestyle-related health concerns. Free medicine samples were also distributed to support ongoing treatment and recovery.
More than 100 beneficiaries availed themselves of the various services offered during the camp, reflecting the growing need for community-based healthcare initiatives. The smooth execution of the programme was ensured by the Health Committee of Daivadnya Bhavan, Margao, under the leadership of Satish Salkar. The organising team included Dr. Priyanka Raikar, Damodar A. Bandodkar, Veeresh Ravindra Nagwekar and other dedicated volunteers who worked collectively to ensure the camp’s success.
The initiative reaffirmed Daivadnya Bhavan’s commitment to community welfare by making essential healthcare services accessible, affordable and preventive in nature.
