Mapuca – It is high time that Goa emerges as the Model State in the Country with complete wipe out of corruption. Congress Party after coming to power in 2022 will bring in a strongest Lokayukta Act to put an end to corruption in Goa announced Congress President Girish Chodankar while speaking at ‘Swatantra Senani – Shahid Sanmaan Diwas” organised by North Goa District Congress Committee at Mapuca as a part of AICC program to celebrate 75th year of independence.
Senior Leader & Former Union Minister Adv. Ramakant Khalap, District President Vijay Bhike, GPCC Vice Presidents Dharma Chodankar, Gurudas Natekar, Spokesman Mahadev Khandekar, Ex MLA Pratap Gawas, Ex Minister Chandrakant Chodankar, NSUI President Naushad Chaudhary, Social Media Incharge Himanshu Tivrekar, District office bearers, Block Presidents and others were present for the function.
To mark the occasion, living and non- living freedom fighters Laxmanrao Dattaram Desai, Rajendra Shivajirao Dessai, Cyriaco Dias, Laximan Mukund Naik, Antonio Ernesto Dacosta Frias, Yaduram Natekar, Nagesh Chari, Nanda Valvoikar, Narayan Vernekar, Ulhas Naik, Felix Francisco Valles, Narayan Shirodkar and Sukha Shirvadkar were felicitated at the hands of Adv. Ramakant Khalap.
Girish Chodankar further said, Our Congress Legislature Party leader Digambar Kamat had tabled a Lokayukta Bill in the recently concluded Assembly Session. Unfortunately, the corrupt BJP Government under Dr. Pramod Sawant had no guts to discuss and pass the bill and hence did not allow the said bill even to get listed.
Our Senior Leader and Former Union Law Minister Adv. Ramakant Khalap had drafted the said bill when he was the Chairman of Goa Law Commission. But, then Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar shelved the bill as he wanted to promote corruption in Goa.
We will now take more suggestions from the legal experts as well as NGO’s and qQqqqqqqfurther strengthen the bill if needed. Congress Party will not spare even our qqq q and Office Bearers from investigations and punishments if they indulge in corrupt activities warned Girish Chodankar.
We will also investigate all the pending cases which were ordered by former Goa Lokayukta and bring all those who are responsible to justice hesaid.
We will also inform all our Candidates of the coming assembly elections about our firm commitment to put an end to the corruption in Goa. We will ensure that all our Candidates after getting elected remain non-corrupt and perform their duties with honesty, Girish Chodankar said.
Adv. Khalap while addressing the gathering louded efforts of all Freedom Fighters and Indian National Congress. He said freedom of citizens is snatched away by the BJP Government and the BJP is trying to divide the Indians. He said India has the capacity to lead the World.
