MANDREM::Mandrem police are conducting an enquiry into the death of a 77-year-old French national who was found lying motionless at her residence in Arambol, Pernem.
According to police sources, on January 17, 2026, at around 6.28 pm, Mandrem Police Station received information from PCR Panaji that a foreign woman was not opening the door of her house at Socoilo Vaddo, Arambol. Acting on the information, LPSI Archana Sharma visited the spot and found the foreign national lying motionless on a bed inside the residence.
The woman was immediately shifted to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Tuem, in a 108 ambulance for medical assistance. However, doctors at the CHC declared her brought dead on arrival.
During the enquiry, the deceased was identified as Ms Marie France Therese Blache Cochet, aged 77 years, a French national. Police said the body was sent for preservation to the Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.
A scene of offence and inquest panchanama was conducted at the spot. Police said further enquiry into the matter is in progress and is being carried out by LPSI Archana Sharma of Mandrem Police Station.
