PANAJI: In a continued drive to curb illegal immigration and enforce compliance with the country’s immigration laws, the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) Goa, in coordination with the Border Security Force (BSF), deported six Bangladeshi nationals who were found residing in the state without valid travel and immigration documents.
The deportation was carried out on February 25 strictly as per laid-down procedures.
An escort team from FRRO Goa handed over the deportees to the BSF, which subsequently facilitated their deportation to Bangladesh.
Officials said the action forms part of ongoing efforts to identify and act against illegal entry and unlawful stay in the state.
According to the Foreigners Branch of Goa Police, a total of 35 illegal Bangladeshi nationals have been tracked, traced and deported from Goa since 2025. The total includes nine males, seven females and 19 minors.
Goa Police reiterated that action against illegal stay and illegal entry is being pursued in close coordination with FRRO and other concerned agencies.
Members of the public have been urged to verify the documents of tenants and workers and report any suspicious cases to the nearest police station or the Foreigners Branch.
