VASCO: Locals troubled over the inflated prices on Petrol and Diesel. People fear that the inflated fuel prices will boost the inflation in essential commodities.
Parshuram Sonurlekar, proprietor Equity and More, said that we know that the world is under a war crisis, we are unaware of how long this situation will prevail.
“The crude oil price is 120 dollars per barrel. India’s GDP is down. As a citizen, if we bear this fuel rate hike, we are taking part in the country’s economic development,” he said.
He said, “I feel it is the appreciable job of the government to keep the fuel prices in Goa below the Rs.100 mark.”
Santosh Morudkar, Vadhurangan service proprietor, opined that it is unfair on the part of the government to increase the fuel prices as it will have an impact on small and big scale economic activities. In last few days, three rupees twenty paise have been hiked on fuel, and in this, the common man is suffering,” he added.
Trupti Harmalkar said that the price hike on fuel is backbreaking.
“How is the common man supposed to travel on his private vehicle daily considering these inflated fuel prices?” she asked.
“We did not expect the fuel to rise further if BJP comes to power, but unfortunately, the fuel prices have soared. The rise in fuel prices means inflation on all essential commodities,” he said.
Efforts were made to contact Paresh Joshi, president of All Goa Petrol Dealers Association, but his phone was switched off.
