MARGAO: With the bye-election to the 21 Ponda Assembly Constituency approaching, election authorities have stepped up preparations, reviewing readiness across departments at a high-level joint meeting chaired by Egna Cleetus, Collector and District Election Officer, South Goa.
The meeting was attended by General Observer Pooja Parth and Expenditure Observer Sharayu H. Aadhe, along with senior officials including the ADM (Law & Order), SP South, SP (Election), DYSP, and representatives from key departments such as DRDA, Social Welfare, IT, and NIC.
A comprehensive review of election preparedness was undertaken, covering logistical arrangements, law and order, expenditure monitoring, and coordination among departments. The Observers emphasised strict adherence to timelines and directed nodal officers to immediately address any gaps or delays in execution.
Officials also stressed the need for seamless coordination between departments to ensure that all election-related responsibilities are carried out efficiently.
Reiterating the importance of electoral integrity, the Observers called for all necessary measures to guarantee that the bye-election is conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner, in line with Election Commission guidelines.
