PANAJI: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao said that the future of Goa is under threat due to rising corruption and mounting public debt. He stated that Congress will focus on eradicating corruption, controlling the state debt which has crossed ₹35,000 crore, and generating employment opportunities for youth.
Alemao also alleged that the BJP’s “dadagiri” must be stopped, claiming that the Assembly session was curtailed when opposition members were exposing issues. He further accused the government of selling land to crony capitalists.
He was speaking at a corner meeting held at Khandepar. Congress candidate Dr Ketan Bhatikar, Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa, Congress Senior Vice President M K Sheikh, Mahila President Pratiksha Khalap, John Pereira and others were present.
