ZUAR-NAGAR: An off-site Level-III mock drill on natural gas pipeline emergency response was conducted by GAIL (India) Limited at Zuari Nagar, Sancoale on Tuesday to test preparedness and coordination among emergency response teams and local authorities.

Personnel from the Verna Fire Service took part in the operation along with GAIL’s Quick Response Team (QRT) and maintenance team.
The drill simulated a situation involving gas leakage and fire on a natural gas pipeline. During the exercise, the teams demonstrated coordinated action to control the leak and contain the fire, while ensuring safety protocols and emergency response procedures were followed.
The operation was carried out in close coordination with senior officials and the Regional Gas Management Centre (RGMC) of GAIL in Bengaluru, along with local government emergency response teams.
Officials briefed the chief guest about the activities and operations of GAIL in Goa during the programme. The chief guest appreciated the preparedness and coordination displayed by the teams and advised the organisation to conduct similar mock drills in other parts of the state where the natural gas pipeline network passes.
