CANACONA: It’s been two decades old practice to jump outside the waist heighted compound wall of Shri Gaitonde mini-Sports to answer nature’s call every day for youngsters and elders-alike, who comes to play games /football or for morning-evening walks at the complex situated just adjacent to Dy. Collectorate, Canacona at Chaudi.
This sight is likely to stop henceforth stopping the unhealthy practice of open urinating and defacing.
At Least people urinating in the open during day time will be curbed for sure as a councillor of Canacona Municipal Council though belonging from different and distant ward Patnem ward, Councilor Shubham Komarpant installed a Bio-digester Toilet right at one corner of the mini-sports complex on Saturday at his own costs and expenses.
The noble did invite the attention of everyone, as nowadays even the lone Saulabh sauchalaya at the Chaudi town is dismantled and a new construction is underway and a large number of people are highly inconvenienced to answer nature’s call.
According to sources, Patnem councillors realised the need for a toilet, at least to ease the number of people and have been reportedly contemplating doing something about it.
Shubham finally decided to make use of his own resources in whatever possible way, donated donated Toilet with Biodigester and water tank costing around rupees 1.5 to 2 lakhs and installed it at Shri Pundalik Gaitonde mini-sports complex, Chaudi Canacona. ‘it was very much essential and in fact need of the hour since there was no toilet since this mini-sports complex was initially started in 2001, and thereafter even one of the sports completed is cemented to enable some official functions and activities. Even Goa’s the 63rd Liberation day official function is celebrated on this mini complex, where Canacona MLA and Speaker hoisted the national flag and taken a guard of honour from Canacona Police.
