PANAJI: Crime Branch has arrested three for demanding Rs 50,000 as protection money from fishing agents operating at Malim jetty.
As per information, the accused has been identified as Nazareth, Buddu, and Kumar (full name notand their associates with their common intention demanded an amount of Rs. 50,000/- on monthly basis as protection money with complainant and other fishing agents operating at Malim jetty, Betim.
The accused persons further threatened the complainant with dire consequences to kill and to damage/burn his fish truck, if the amount is not paid to them.
Investigating Officer, PSI Girish Padloskar said that further investigation is in progress.
