OLD GOA: Acting on reliable and specific information, Old Goa Police conducted a late-night narcotics raid at Gavant, Chimbel, in Tiswadi and arrested a 28-year-old man for illegal possession of suspected ganja.
The raid was carried out on December 31, 2025, at around 10.54 pm on an internal road at Gavant, Chimbel.
During the operation, the police apprehended Mansur Ali, son of Hazrat Ali, a resident of Indiranagar, Chimbel, who was working as a driver.
Police recovered 312 grams of greenish-coloured leafy substance with flowering and fruiting tops suspected to be ganja from the accused. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth approximately ₹30,000.
The offence was registered at Old Goa Police Station at 11.59 pm on the same day based on a complaint filed by PSI Saiesh N. Bhonsle.
Further investigation in the case is being carried out by PSI Sanket S. Pokhare of Old Goa Police Station.
