Valpoi: The Ganpati Visarjan Shed at Shel Melawali in Maigine, under Guleli Gram Panchayat, was inaugurated in the presence of Sarpanch Nitesh Gawade, Panch member Prashanti Melekar and villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarpanch Nitesh Gawade said the facility had been a long-pending demand of the locals, as Ganesh devotees had faced difficulties in conducting immersions for several years. “With the cooperation of local MLA and Minister Vishwajit Rane, this shed has now been made available for devotees. This will ensure that Ganpati immersions are conducted smoothly without inconvenience,” he stated.
Gawade further said that proper facilities, including a designated space for bhajans, have been created at the site. He urged villagers to take full advantage of the new amenities and emphasised that unity among citizens is essential for the development of the village. “Citizens’ cooperation will help us create better facilities in the future,” he added.
He also expressed confidence that Minister Vishwajit Rane, who has already implemented several development works in the area, would soon resolve other pending issues of the village.
Ganesh devotees expressed satisfaction with the newly built shed and extended gratitude to the Panchayat for addressing this long-standing concern.
