COLVA: Police have registered a case against a delivery boy of a gas agency in Benaulim for allegedly cheating customers and misappropriating over ₹3.27 lakh.
According to Colva Police, the accused, Vishanaram Pooniya, a native of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was employed as a delivery boy at Salcete Gas Agencies. Between June 16 and July 20, 2025, he allegedly induced customers to make online payments for gas cylinder deliveries into his personal bank account instead of the company’s account.
Police said he dishonestly withheld the money and failed to deposit it into the complainant’s account, thereby causing wrongful loss to his employer. The complaint in the matter was lodged by Leisha Pimenta of Seraulim.
The case has been registered under Crime No. 69/2025 for offences under Sections 318(3) and 316(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
Further investigation is being conducted by LPSI Raksha Naik of Colva Police Station.
