PONDA: After the artists expressed unhappiness over the cancellation of the Dekhava competition, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude assured the competition would be held as per the schedule and that Dekhava Artists should not misunderstand government intentions.
He said there was a condition for competition that minimum entries must come for it; however, only seven entries were received while the prizes were eight.
“Therefore now, we will wait for five more days so that those who could not submit their entry get a chance to participate,” Gaude said.
He said even if fewer entries are received, there should not be any injustice to the artist who had prepared Dekhava as it requires hard effort.
He said the first three prizes would be definitely be given.
He said judges of competition would take an appropriate decision after inspecting the Dekhavas.
