Speaking at the meeting, Joglekar said the GCZMA has been engaging with local bodies to help citizens understand the CRZ notification, its provisions, and the benefits available under CRZ-II and CRZ-III categories. He emphasized that officers were deputed to interact directly with locals to clarify doubts and explain how the CRZ framework enables responsible development while protecting coastal ecosystems.
Residents actively participated in the discussion, voicing concerns about urbanization, construction permissions, and environmental safeguards. Officials assured that all clarifications were provided and reiterated the department’s commitment to continued dialogue with stakeholders.
