PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today announced that the Jan Aushadi counter will be put at all the pharmacies in the state of Goa and that a circular will be issued in the next 48 hours.
“On Jan Aushadi Diwas, we have taken a collective decision to put up a Jan Aushadi counter at all the pharmacies in the state of Goa; we will be strictly implementing this; circular will be issued in this regard in the next 48 hours,” said Rane.
He further said that the same will be implemented and monitored by the Director of FDA Goa, and this will ensure high-quality generic medicines are available to every section of society.
Rane said that pharmacies across the state will have to abide by this.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said: “Over 9,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras are working to ensure that people would get quality medicines at affordable prices, and these Kendras are gaining popularity amongst the public,’
He said that the Railways are also carrying a special campaign for the publicity of affordable generic medicines, which will create awareness among the public and save their money.
“Railway Ministry has decided to open Jan Aushadhi Kendra at some big railway stations. This will benefit the commuters as they can buy medicines from these kendras at stations and don’t need to go anywhere,” he added.
The Department of Pharmaceuticals has planned various events in different cities starting from March 1-7, focusing on awareness about the Jan Aushadhi Scheme.
