PANAJI: The Goa Forward Party (GFP) today has said that the Pramod Sawant led BJP government had cheated Goa and the people of Pernem on the Mopa International Airport.
GFP also has slammed the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant for promoting his interests in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra.
Addressing the media, GFP’s Jitendra Goankar said, “The BJP government led by Pramod Sawant has cheated us on the Mopa international airport. He has not only cheated Goans but mainly Pernekars,”
He further questioned on the development of Mopa Airport claiming whether it was Goa or the neighboring district of Karnataka.
“As of now no jobs have been given as promised, the agenda on jobs are still hidden, now the question remains whether these jobs are of people of Goa or Sindhudurg and we ask whether Sawant is CM of Goa or Maharashtra,” said Goankar
GFP vice-president Durgadas Kamat questioned why the chief minister declared that Rs 100 crore would be utilised on Swayampurna Goem if he did not believe that Goa can be self-reliant.
Meanwhile, in a major statement, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that theupcoming Greenfield International airport at Mopa will boost tourismin neighbouring Sindhudurg district, along with Goa. Hesaid that the district has large scope for tourism promotion like Goa and the Mopa airport will give major boost to the sector.
