SHIRODA: Goa Forward Party (GFP) Youth Vice President Ruonal Kerkar was allegedly assaulted by four unidentified men in Shiroda.
The assailants reportedly attacked Kerkar and vandalized his car during the incident.
While the exact motive remains unclear, the youth leader has lodged a police complaint, prompting an investigation to trace the accused.
Strongly condemning the attack, GFP leaders said it was an attempt to intimidate the party’s youth wing and pressed for immediate and strict action against the culprits.
GFP Environment Cell Convenor Vikas Bhagat described it as an “attempt to murder,” adding that such incidents reflected the breakdown of law and order in the State.
He accused the government of being indifferent while the Home Minister remained occupied with political priorities.
Police have assured that all angles are being probed and that adequate measures will be taken to prevent further escalation.
