PANAJI: In a major crackdown on the drug trade, officials of the Crime Branch Ribandar arrested a Ghanaian national with a significant quantity of suspected Ecstasy tablets during a narcotics raid conducted on the night of April 11, 2025. The operation, which took place between 8:58 PM and 11:25 PM near the cemetery at Rauta Vaddo, Nagoa in Bardez, Goa, was led by PI Vikas Deykar and included ASI Shriram Salgaonkar, HC Mangesh Deshpande (5129), PC Sushant Pagi (6155), PC Rupesh Gaikwad (7895), and PC Prakash Utkuri (8158). The accused, identified as 35-year-old Sebastian Duah, a Ghana national currently residing in a rented room at Fuldem Vaddo, Nagoa, was found in possession of 60 Ecstasy tablets of varying colors and shapes—pink, brown, and orange, rectangular and triangular. The suspected psychotropic substances, weighing 26.304 grams, were concealed in the dickey of a blue Yamaha Fascino scooter bearing registration number GA-03-AU-5861. The international market value of the seized drugs is estimated at ₹15 lakh. The narcotics were confiscated under a formal search and seizure panchnama, and a case has been registered at the Crime Branch Police Station under Crime No. 52/2025, invoking Section 22(c) of the NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation is being carried out by PI Vikas Deykar under the supervision of DySP Crime Shri Rajesh Kumar and SP Crime Shri Rahul Gupta, IPS.
