PONDA: In a strange incident, an 18-year-old girl was left shocked after being attacked and injured by one bike rider at Kapileshwarim- Kavlem bus stop, located around 100 meters away from her house.
The accused is learnt to be from the same Kavlem village, and his family tried to compromise the matter; however victim family has sought a thorough probe and justice into the matter.
The accused family says the boy is mentally ill, while the victim family says he is working in PWD and riding a bike.
In this case, the parents said their daughter was standing at Kapileshwarim Bus Stop waiting for the bus to proceed towards her workplace at 3 pm yesterday.
Suddenly, the accused came with a bike, stopped in front of her, and offered her a lift to proceed towards Ponda.
However, the girl refused his offer. The latter started walking towards the house so that her brother could drop her at Ponda,
However, before that, the boy chased her on the internal road, parked his bike and physically assaulted her.
The girl received head injuries and has been admitted to Ponda Sub District Hospital.
The locals are unhappy over the slow investigation by Police and declaring the accused as mental even before he is arrested and documents are checked and verified for he is a mentally ill person.
The Police also registered offences against unknowns and started a probe.
The family said they will not keep quiet until justice is met.
