CANACONA: Asking Canconcar’s to provide suitable land; BCCI Jt. Secretary Rohan Gauns Desai informed Goa Cricket Association (GCA) is all willing to build a magnificent cricket stadium in the taluka.
Gaus Desai was speaking at the Cricket Kit distribution Ceremony for schools of Canacona on the occasion of Birthday of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant organised by GCA at Canacona on Thursday. The function is attended amongst others by GCA Secretary Shamba Naik Dessai, GCA Jt. Secretary Rupesh Naik and GCA Ex-President Chetan M. Desai.
Each Cricket Kits worth Rs.80,000/- were distributed to all the 19 high schools of Canacona on the occasion of Birthday celebrations of Goa’s Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant in a function held at Centro Promotor De Instrucao, Char-Rasta.
Earlier, GCA Secretary Shamba Naik Desai informed that over 400 schools in Goa will be given the cricket Kit and the beginning is made at Canacona, and distributed 19 cricket kits to equal number of Schools in the taluka on the occasion of Chief Minister’s Birthday.
In birthday boy’s absentia, Birthday Cake was cut at the hands of school children in the presence of State BJP General Secretary Sarvanand Bhagat, Guests, and Office bearers of GCA and Executive members of Centro Promotor De Instrucao.
While Chief Guest/GCA Ex-President/Shri Mallikarjun & Chetan Manju Desai College President Chetan M Desai reiterated what BCCI Joint Secretary Rohan Guas Desai earlier spoke said that Cricket stadium will be built provided a suitable land is made available by the people of Canacona or any association.
Guest of Honor/GCA Secretary Shamba Naik Desai stating the Kit distribution is part of Khelo India- Fit India movement asked the schools not to keep Cricket Kit as Showpiece but make use of it. ‘If more is needed we are ready to even explore the request more positively, but do use the kit for practice and be someone recognizable in the world of cricket.’
