KUALA LUMPUR: The 2nd International Summit of Religious Leaders 2025 was held in Malaysia, bringing together prominent faith leaders from across the world to deliberate on interfaith harmony, conflict resolution, and global peacebuilding.
The summit was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of His Excellency Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Anwar bin Ibrahim, who underlined the importance of dialogue and cooperation between religions in addressing global challenges. Also in attendance were His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and President of the Muslim Scholars Association, and His Excellency Senator Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohammad Naim bin Haji Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office for Religious Affairs.
Speakers at the summit emphasized that faith traditions, when guided by principles of compassion and respect, can serve as bridges of peace rather than instruments of division. Discussions revolved around strengthening interfaith understanding, countering extremism, and promoting unity among diverse communities.
The event provided a platform for dialogue between leaders of different religions, reaffirming the collective responsibility of spiritual leadership in healing divides and contributing to a more harmonious world.
