PANAJI: On February 20, 2025, the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman issued a heartfelt appeal from Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão, urging all the faithful to pray for the speedy recovery of Pope Francis. The Pope, who is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital, has been a subject of global concern and prayer.
Cardinal Ferrão, in his capacity as the Archbishop-Patriarch, has requested priests, religious, and lay faithful of the archdiocese to dedicate their prayers for the Holy Father’s health. This call to prayer comes as Pope Francis faces a challenging health situation, having been hospitalized for a polymicrobial respiratory infection and recently diagnosed with double pneumonia.
The appeal, issued by Rev. Fr. Barry Cardozo,
Director of the Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media, emphasizes the importance of spiritual support during this critical time. It is hoped that through collective prayer, the Lord will grant Pope Francis the strength and health needed to continue his vital role in leading the Catholic Church.
