ANJUNA:The General Manager of an Assagaon-based restaurant has been arrested for cheating and misappropriating a significant amount of money from his employer.
The accused, Gulshan Kumar Singh, was employed as the General Manager by Shivkaran Singh, the owner of Sukoon Hospitality, to manage his restaurant in Assagao, Goa.
According to the complaint filed on May 6, 2025, Singh misappropriated a total of Rs. 4,37,73,737/- from the company over a period spanning from August 2021 to February 2025.
The complainant alleged that Singh dishonestly converted to his own use an amount of Rs. 1,88,35,553/- by altering, canceling, or deleting bills issued during customer payments.
Additionally, the accused failed to account for Rs. 2,38,68,184/- which was transferred to his personal account from the company’s funds to settle payments to various vendors and suppliers.
A case was registered at Anjuna Police Station (Cr. No. 78/2025) under Sections 314, 316 (4), 318(4), and 3(5) of BNS 2023.
After being traced in New Delhi by PSI Swapnil Naik and staff, Gulshan Kumar Singh, aged 32 years, was arrested on May 9, 2025.
He was brought to Anjuna Police Station and remanded to 7 days police custody.
The investigation is ongoing, under the supervision of PI Anjuna PS, SDPO Mapusa, and SP North Porvorim.
