Bambolim: The semi final stage of the Goa University Inter Collegiate Cricket Men’s Championship 2025–26 concluded with two exciting matches, confirming Goa Medical College and Don Bosco College Panjim as the finalists of the tournament.
In the first semi final, Goa Medical College secured a four wicket victory over Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre Assagao after a competitive encounter. DM’s College won the toss and opted to bat first, posting 137 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Rohan Zantye led the scoring with a steady 55 from 49 deliveries, while Rayyan Sajjad Shah added 28 runs. For Goa Medical College, Tanish Prabhudesai and Rohan Vadyekar impressed with the ball, claiming two wickets each.
Chasing the target, Goa Medical College reached 141 for 6 in 19.1 overs to seal the win. Adarsh Naik anchored the innings with a composed 58 from 54 balls, while Tanish Prabhudesai and Arsh Sardesai contributed valuable knocks of 31 runs each. Rohan Zantye tried to keep his side in the contest with three wickets, while Rohan Phadte picked up two. Adarsh Naik was named the best batter of the match, while Tanish Prabhudesai was recognised as the best bowler.
In the second semi final, Don Bosco College Panjim registered a dominant nine wicket win over Government College of Commerce and Economics Borda Margao. After choosing to field first, Don Bosco’s bowlers dismantled the opposition, restricting them to just 52 runs in 17.5 overs. Sameer Harmalkar and Ajay Raj claimed three wickets each, while Namdev Raul supported with two wickets.
Don Bosco chased the modest target with ease, reaching 58 for 1 in only 4.3 overs. Ajay Raj scored 19 runs, while Sapnish Satarkar played a quickfire knock of 18 from just five deliveries. Sameer Harmalkar was declared the best bowler, while Sapnish Satarkar earned the best batter award.
The championship final will be played on April 2, 2026 at the Goa University Ground Bambolim, where Goa Medical College will face Don Bosco College Panjim in the title clash scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
