MAPUSA: In a bold move to ensure top-quality healthcare, Goa’s Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has announced that doctors at Goa Medical College (GMC) who fail to adapt to new technologies and continuously update their knowledge will face termination.
Vishwajit was addressing the gathering on ocasion of Mega Medical Camp at SIHFW Building, Old Asilo, Mapusa.

The minister emphasized that the state government aims to provide the best medical services to the public and that ongoing education and skill enhancement are essential for maintaining high standards of care.
This initiative highlights the importance of integrating modern medical advancements and techniques into daily practices to improve patient outcomes at one of Asia’s oldest medical institutions.
Goa’s emergency healthcare system has been enhanced with the addition of GVK EMRI 108 ambulances, aimed at ensuring quicker response times during critical situations.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane noted that these ambulances, equipped with advanced life-saving technology and staffed with trained paramedics, improve trauma care and survival rates.
The initiative is especially crucial during the golden hour, where immediate medical intervention can save lives.
People of all ages gathered at the SIHFW Building in Old Asilo, Mapusa, for a Mega Medical Camp, eager to take charge of their health. Families, elders, youngsters, and even children attended in large numbers, making the event a collective effort toward promoting wellness and preventive care.
