PANJIM: As Indian Civil Aviation is slowly returning to normalcy, Goa International Airport saw a steady rise in flight movement since April 2020, from 27 flights in April to nearly 12 times that number in July 2020.
Goa Airport also witnessed rising passenger footfall since June 2020.
As per the data available with Airports Authority of India (AAI), Goa Airport in the month of April saw 5524 passengers, 4498 in May, 20,474 in June and 22,028 in July 2020.
In terms of flight movements, Goa International Airport in the month of April saw a movement of 27 flights, May with 59 flights, June with 265 flights while in June 318 flights movements were witnessed.
As of this week, India is seeing around 80,000 daily passengers on domestic flights.
Country had banned international commercial passenger flights until August 31. The country has banned these flight operations since March 23 due to COVID-19 pandemic. The international cargo operations and the flights approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation will continue as usual.
