PORVORIM: Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has warned schools to refrain from denying admission to students on the grounds of Disability.
“As mandated in Section 16 Rights of the persons with Disabilities Act 2016, it is mandatory on the part of Educational Institutions to provide inclusive Education to the Children with Disabilities in all Schools and in no way admission can be denied on the grounds of Disability,” states the circular
Further failure to comply with the above will be dealt as per Section 89 of Right to Persons with disabilities Act 2016 without any further notice against the institution denying admission to students with Disabilities, the circular adds.
Head of the Institutions have also been asked to display the circular at prominent place on the notice board.
